2 days into 2022 and I have kept all my New Year resolutions so far. How ‘bout you? I’d say we are all having a healthy new year. Yay for us!!
Of course we know that most people have forgotten their new year resolutions by February 1, so let’s make a few specific ones just for this month that will make us healthier. What are some really easy hacks that just have to work? Here’s a few:
Morning
1. Drink a glass of water in the first hour you are awake.How much? I dunno, maybe 8-12 ounces. Should it be hot or cold? Ancient wisdom says warm, but I say just drink it.
2. Stretch for 5-10 minutes.(Poodle assist optional).
3. Think a nice or encouraging thought about yourself. Maybe an affirmation like “I will have a joyful, healthy day.” Or, “ Today I will make a difference in someone else’s life.”
Lunchtime – Take a 10 minutes walk, or do some squats. And sing a song. (No one has to be listening.)
Evening – Keep one of those New Year’s resolutions like eat a vegetable, or no seconds.
And finally, go to sleep 20 minutes earlier.
That doesn’t seem hard. Does it? You may have many more intense health commitments for January. Go for it. If you get 25% or 110% better it is still better.
